A. Gib McEachran

Inspired by an early desire to be a teacher and coach, and by someone who touched him deeply, Gib McEachran saw the financial industry as an opportunity to help, to educate and to coach people towards futures that were more prepared, and more independent. “My father, who is a very intelligent man, knew absolutely nothing about investing or finances in general. If this intelligent, successful man didn’t understand money, then there had to be a whole lot of people out there who needed honest, trustworthy guidance.”

In the work he does, Gib most enjoys seeing the fruits of his labor. He sees his clients’ dreams helped toward reality through planning and investment strategy. These realities may be retirement, travel, renovations, or gifts to family. Equally as important, he has helped clients when faced with life’s unexpected challenges such as job loss, illness, or loss of a loved one. He has helped make these situations less stressful because finances are in order.

Gib specializes in Wealth Management for clients using a proactive approach that seeks to take advantage of market opportunities, while mitigating losses in difficult times. He and John Hardy have co-hosted “Money Matters” on WSJS for over 20 years. Both he and John also appeared for more than 15 years on WGHP FOX 8 as a co-host during their “Your Turn” segments.

Gib is a Registered Representative with LPL Financial and an Investment Advisor Representative with Independent Advisor Alliance. He is the past president for the Greenhill Center for NC Art; past president of the Paladin Club for Furman University; past president of the Triad’s Alumni Association; past Board Treasurer of the Weatherspoon Art Museum; and was a Class of 1997 graduate of Leadership Greensboro.

Originally from Memphis, Tennessee, Gib graduated from Furman University with a Bachelors’ of Science degree in History in 1983. In 1996, he was inducted into Furman’s Athletic “Hall of Fame” where he is also a member of the Advisory Board to the University’s President.

A great lover of the outdoors, Gib balances his seasonal activities which include cycling and hunting waterfowl. He resides in Greensboro, and has two grown children, Mary Parke and Gibbs.

John W. Hardy, Jr.

John has always liked the concept of numbers and economics, and desired a career that would allow him to match that with his passion to interact with helping others improve their lives. “The financial industry has allowed me to create a company of great people, to work with a wonderful partner, and to interact with fantastic clients to help them pursue their goals. It is why I help created this company and come to work each day.”

John has been assisting clients with asset management, wealth building, and income generation for more than 35 years. One of two managing partners in HMC Partners, he specializes in the management of client investments. He has consistently managed his client’s assets through recessions, bull runs, financial crisis, and national tragedies. In addition, John holds seminars and provides educational events for institutions, civic groups and other organizations on money management and investment topics.
John started the radio show “Money Matters,” which he co-hosts with Gib McEachran, over 20 years ago on WSJS 600/1200 AM. He also appeared with Gib for more than 15 years on WGHP FOX 8 as a co-host during their “Your Turn” segments.

Native to Greensboro, he graduated with a Bachelor of Arts Degree from Lenoir Rhyne College in 1979. He is a Registered Representative with LPL Financial and Investment Advisor Representative with Independent Advisor Alliance (IAA).

Personally, John has served as a deacon, finance committee member, personnel chair, and Sunday school teacher at First Baptist Church. He is past-president of the local Salvation Army Board where he served for nine years. He is also one of the key founders of the Western Guilford High School and Page High School men’s varsity lacrosse teams, and a graduate of the Leadership Greensboro Program.

Owning a farm outside of Elkin, in the foothills of North Carolina, provides John an outlet for his love of the outdoors. Whether he is on his tractor plowing or bush hogging, tending his garden, fly-fishing, or duck hunting, he treasures these experiences for the connection to quality people and places. A perfect quiet moment will find John sitting under the chimes on the farm or under the old walnut tree. Connections with quality people also mean time spent with his wife Christy of 37 years, their children Beth and William, their three grandchildren, Liam, Jake and Hardy, or the couple’s great dogs, Samson and Skeeter.
