My Christmas Message
Starting in September this year, I assumed the Vice Chair’s position for the Deacons of First Baptist Church. It has been a good experience thus far and I will look forward to serving through September 2016. One of the things I have enjoyed doing is in a weekly email which I send to the group, I send a thought for the week. I am not sure others are inspired but it does lift my spirits as I read and search for the right “thought” for that week.
So let me share with you this quote: “One of the most glorious messes in the world is the mess created in the living room on Christmas day. Don’t clean it up too quickly.” – Andy Rooney
This has been a good, but tough market year for us here at HMC. I know the stock market’s performance has been challenging, and I know each of you are in some ways are a little concerned and would like to see better numbers. But, with all the volatility that is in the market this past year, and that we foresee continuing into next year, we at HMC continue on a daily basis to focus on ways to provide the best overall management and service for your account.
One of the reasons things are positive here for us is that we are growing. Our growth is not growth for growth sake, but growth be driven by our desire to add continued high level of services, strive for better performance results, and continuity to our company.
Kelly Fisher in our office has been promoted! She will now begin to work internally with clients’ accounts in a service capacity as well as taking over many of the marketing duties, including planning our seminars and fun social events. She continues to grow as an individual in our industry, thus adding a new layer of internal service capability to our team.
We just hired our newest employee, Annicka Kraft. She speaks three languages (English, German and Swedish) and once she gets up and running watch out! Annicka is the smiling face and cheerful voice that answers your call and greets you as you enter our Greensboro office. She will also move more towards a support role as she works her way into our system.
Our next hire comes in January with Heather Brightbill. Heather is coming with us as a LPL Financial registered administrative assistant to assist with our financial planning as well as supporting our existing clients and the Carolina Bank relationship. We will ultimately ask her to get her CFP® designation (CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER™) and assist in building further our planning process.
Next, we will be adding Chip Slaughter in January/February. Chip is an advisor of his own success. Gib and I have known him for over 20 years and watched him build his practice here in the community. Chip will be the beginning of our next generation and will provide new doors for HMC to offer our asset management services.
Cannot stop without saying Kathy and Diane continue to be the backbone of HMC and their hard work and dedication (Diane providing extensive industry knowledge and superior client service and Kathy handling the business operations and compliance) are what continues to move us forward and make HMC great.
Plus, we have one more announcement that we’ll be telling you about just after the first of the year… stay tuned!
So you see, things are good and we do believe even in this period of market volatility your accounts will work through this also.
We all here at HMC wish each of you a Merry Christmas, Happy Hanukah, and good season cheer.
Thank you all for your support and working with us and know we are dedicated to providing you with the best service and performance we possibly can. Merry Christmas to All!
