Partner

Inspired by an early desire to be a teacher and coach, Gib McEachran saw the financial industry as an opportunity to help educate and coach people towards realizing their financial goals. “My late father, who was a very intelligent man, knew absolutely nothing about investing or finances in general. If this intelligent, successful man didn’t understand money, then there had to be a whole lot of people out there who needed honest, trustworthy guidance.”

In the work he does with HMC clients, Gib most enjoys seeing the fruits of his labor, and in particular, working with more than one generation to help preserve and grow a family's financial legacy. He also takes tremendous satisfaction in helping HMC's clients pursue their goals, whether for retirement, travel, renovations, or gifts to family. Equally as important, the financial planning that he has done with clients often serves to mitigate life's unexpected challenges such as job loss, illness, or loss of a loved one.

Gib has served as president for the Greenhill Center for NC Art; the Paladin Club for Furman University and Triad’s Alumni Association; also as past Board Treasurer of the Weatherspoon Art Museum; and was a Class of 1997 graduate of Leadership Greensboro.

Originally from Memphis, Tennessee, Gib graduated from Furman University with a Bachelor of Science degree in History in 1983. In 1996, he was inducted into Furman’s Athletic "Hall of Fame." His son, Gibbs works with HMC Partners, and his daughter, Mary Parke Dunn, lives in New Orleans. He also has sister dogs, Boo and Sophie, who are charcoal gray labs.
